Biggest problems with that is we can't consistently beat those teams. Getting some winnable games on the schedule early might not be a bad thing, instead of starting in a 0-3, 1-3, etc, hole every season while struggling to make a bowl game.

And with the new landscape of college football there is very little incentive for the P5 schools to schedule outside of themselves. They are all working to get into the 4 CFP spots and need their schedules as strong as possible. A win over ECU isn't going to help their case.
